The small whisper of a cry was enough to make Korvallen stir from his rest, even as Sharr's eyes opened.
"Shh," Kor chided the exhausted brother of his heart, and he rolled off the bed to get to the basket. He gathered the swaddled infant, determining the need of the too frail, too small child.
For all that Methrammar had been a single birth, Elué's first with Sharr, it had been hard on her, and worse on the boy.
He changed the soft skins around the boy, reswaddled him, and came back to bed with the milk and dropper Charic had provided the men, while she helped Elué recover.
Sharr had rolled to his side, and Kor settled there, leaning back into the brother of his heart, feeding the boy dropper by dropper, until Methri was settled.
"You're so good with our sons," Sharr praised.
"You've given me enough practice."
