The night was a dark, moonless one, and they'd taken shelter in a shallow cave. Maybe it was the rock smell. Maybe it was the lingering memories of the Underdark stirred by facing down a raiding party all on their own.
Catti-brie didn't know which, nor care as she roused to her lover trapped in a hell of his mind's making.
"I'm with ye, me ranger," she murmured softly, moving with surety into his space on the bedroll. The confidence in his nature toward her, her love for him, pulled him away from the terrors, and let his sleep calm.
