"Hands up!"
The call, which had been issued in German, then French, and finally English, made the pair of men look at each other. As one, they turned, but neither complied with the order. Toddy was slightly in front of Ardeth's turn, his body slightly hiding his companion. One officer, two subordinates… and as soon as Ardeth stepped clear of Toddy's shield, all three fell to the machine pistol.
"I didn't like this part the first time around," Toddy said, before they both hastened on their way.
"Which is why we must get you away, with what you accidentally learned!"
