Ding Dong Diversion (The Closer, Sharon Raydor, Brenda Leigh Johnson)
Fandom: The Closer
Pair: Brenda Leigh Johnson/ Sharon Raydor
Content Warnings: Rated T
Prompt: "What did you say?"
Brenda peels back the foil to reveal the perfectly round disc coated in a delectable chocolate shell. She usually saves her Ding Dong consumption for private moments, but if Brenda Leigh Johnson knows how to do one thing in this world, it is how to control an interrogation— even when she is the one being interrogated.
Brenda glances up at Captain Raydor, still leaning over Brenda's desk with a smugly superior look on her face. The blonde brings the snack cake up to her nose, inhaling the sweet sugary scent of it as she licks her lips in anticipation. Out of the corner of her eye, Brenda notices the older woman also licking her lips reflexively and she knows she's got her.
"Go ahead, Cap'n, ask your question," Brenda says as she breaks a small piece off of the Ding Dong to reveal the creamy center.
Captain Raydor clears her throat and stands upright, moves to the chair across the desk from Brenda. "You said something in that car, Chief. And I know it was something important because Det. Sanchez refuses to repeat it."
"And?" Brenda coaxes the captain to continue as she pops the piece of cake in her mouth, barely suppressing a low moan as the chocolate hits her tongue.
The captain clears her throat again and shoves her hands into the pockets of her blazer. "And I need to know what it was. What you said."
Brenda smiles coyly and leans back in her chair, affording the captain a better view of what she does next. She dips an index finger into the center of the cake, retrieving a generous amount of thick white cream which she proceeds to slowly lick off of her finger as she relates her version of the story. She can see that the brunette is not focused on what Brenda is saying, but the important thing is that she's saying it and no one can accuse her of keeping secrets.
Brenda finishes her story, punctuating the last sentence by running her now clean finger over her lips to wipe away any remaining cream filling and then she licks her lips one more time.
Captain Raydor's eyes are glazed over, her pupils so big that they almost completely obscure the emerald green irises, and her mouth hangs open just slightly. Brenda smirks and raises one eyebrow in amusement. "Captain? Was there anything else?" she asks. When no response is forthcoming, Brenda tries again, purring the other woman's name. "Cap'n Raydor?"
The captain blinks, shakes her head slightly, and clears her throat yet again. "I'm sorry, Chief, what did you say?" she asks, trying (with little success) to recover some level of composure.
Brenda smiles wider. "I asked if there was anythin' else you might need from me today? she drawls innocently.
"Oh. Oh! Um…"
Brenda is enjoying watching the usually refined captain unraveling before her eyes. "I do have other work to do, you know," Brenda declares, even as she dips her finger back into the Ding Dong to start the whole display over again.
"No, Chief, that will be all for now," the captain says, quickly scrambling out of her chair and towards the door.
"Alright, bye bye now!" Brenda calls after her as Raydor takes off through the murder room at record speed. "And thank you! Thank you so much!"
The other woman finally out of her hair, Brenda leans back and kicks her feet up on the desk to truly enjoy the rest of the Ding Dong. As she does, Raydor's dazed expression keeps popping into Brenda's mind and she has to admit, it was kind of cute — sexy, even. By the time the Ding Dong is gone, Brenda has decided that she wouldn't mind seeing that look on the captain's face again… and hopefully soon.
