Fandom: AB6IX, Purple Kiss
Pairing/Characters: Lee Daehwi, Park Sujin | Swan
Content Notes: N/A
Prompt: 10 September, Did they have the same dream?

Sujin stood nervously outside the company, checking her outfit and hair in the windows before opening the door and walking in with a confidence she didn't feel. Fake it till you make it, though. She walked right up to the receptionist and handed over the card they'd said she'd need. "I'm here to see Lee Daehwi," she said.

The woman's expression eased as she took the card, and then guided Sujin through the process of signing in and getting a visitors badge. Sujin thanked her and sat down on the couch in the waiting room the woman had showed her to, trying to relax.

No matter what, she had to remember, he'd contacted her. He hadn't offered her a job (which she needed desperately), but he'd offered an interview for a paid internship. Now she just needed to strike the right middle ground between arrogance and desperation. She wanted this job. Not just because she needed the money, but because it was her dream, and she wanted this so badly she could taste it.

Movement from the hallway, opposite the door she'd come in, caught her attention, and she straightened a little more. She recognized him almost immediately, from the picture she'd seen when she'd looked him up on the company website. Average size, which meant taller than here, and a bright smile he bestowed on her when he saw her. Sujin stood up and bowed. "Park Sujin," she said.

"Lee Daewhi," he said, bowing back. "Follow me."

She did, careful not to clutch her folder, although she found it hard, her heart beating like it wanted out of her chest. She tried not to show it, trailing behind Daehwi and feeling like a duckling or something.

He showed her into his workspace, a studio crammed with so much equipment. It took her a minute to decipher the mess, and she couldn't help the smile that crossed her face as she tucked her hands behind her back to keep from touching.

Daehwi chuckled. "Sit down," he said, ushering her to a seat. "What have you got there?"

Sujin sat down and put the folder in her lap. "My resume and some of the projects I worked on," she said. "All of them with addresses on SoundCloud and a couple on YouTube."

"I heard what you put on YouTube," Daehwi said. "I'll definitely look into the SoundCloud. Why aren't they linked?"

Sujin straightened. "They are very different sounds," she explained. "Even the pseudonym is different for each one. So that when I get more experience, and get more sounds to put up, people will be able to choose which they want to hear by the name it's on."

Daehwi raised his eyebrows. "I hadn't thought of that," he said, and smiled. "I want to hear it even more, now."

Sujin's cheeks heated up, and she handed over the paper in the folder. "It's all there," she said.

Daehwi took the paper and set it aside. "Excellent. Right now, though, I would like to see how familiar you are with everything here."

Sujin blinked at him. "I... I'm afraid to touch anything," she admitted. "it's so nice. And I don't want to ruin any settings."

"You won't," Daehwi said, and pulled up a piece of music on the computer. "Come play around, let me hear your process for making a sound into something you want."

Sujin could do that, and so she moved to sit the chair in front of the computer, took a moment to familiarize herself with everything, and then went to work.

Daehwi sat against the back wall and watched her work. He liked what he saw, how she took her time, how she looked things up, and how she wasn't afraid to turn and ask him if she got stuck. He appreciated that. Having someone able to interrupt him for something they needed, instead of wasting time trying to find something online and no knowing where to look, or what to look under.

He cut her off after 20 minutes, having seen all he needed to. She was young, but only a couple of years younger than him, and he'd been her age when he started. He was absolutely willing to give her a chance, and he hoped she was willing to give him one. She saved her work, closed the program, and turned to face him.

"What did you think?" he asked.

Sujin hesitated, head tilted to the side. "It's going to be a steep learning curve," she admitted, and smiled. "I like the challenge."

"You won't get to work on the boards much at first," he cautioned her. "Your first while will be getting to know how to get around the company, where to go when I need something, and so on. Are you interested?"

Sujin's already bright smile brightened further. "So much," she breathed. "Yes. I am interested."

Daehwi nodded and stood up. She did the same, and bowed. "I'll make sure you are contacted by the end of the week," he told her. "Thank you for coming in."

Sujin bowed again. "Thank you," she said, and he could tell she could barely contain her excitement as he walked her back out.
