Prompt/challenge you're answering: Draco and Marietta, not fully human.
Draco calls her "The Sneak Freak" and laughs at the sight of her, but at least he looks at her. Not like those Ravenclaws, Marietta's former friends, girls with somber faces whose eyes slide away and whose lips press tightly together in rigid lines whenever Marietta opens her mouth to speak. Sorrow, shame, and regret are words with no meaning; there are no options in war. She has been branded; she is the enemy. There is nothing else.
Marietta loathes Draco with every fiber of her being, and she knows Draco feels the same way about her. But she can see the darkness in his eyes when he approaches her, and she hears the feeling in his words. "You're not even human," he says. "You're disgusting. You're a monster."
Draco says these things to her but he is also saying them to himself. Marietta has seen him crying when he thinks no one is looking. No one is looking, because Marietta is no one. Draco hates himself because of the image he is supposed to live up to, an image he cannot possibly be. He is supposed to be the enemy, but he doesn't like the way it feels anymore. It's so much darker than he'd ever imagined.
There are ugly scars across Marietta's face that can never be ignored, the everlasting reminder of the mistake that cost her everything she ever had in life. Draco sneers at them and calls her a freak, but Marietta knows that he has a matching mark across his heart, and that is why she allows him to kiss her. He sees himself in her; they are both monsters.
