A reminder that the 2023 Eight Character Full Round will begin in a little over a month:

Signups Open - August 6th
Prompts Posted - August 17th
Posting - September 1st-28th
Amnesty - Thereafter

and, the biggest of eternal, endless, and undying thanks to volunteer tagmod seerofrage who spent the last ~week cleaning up all the crossover and pairing tags, sorting them into fandoms and characters. \o/ Thank you so much!

I've edited the community's profile to modernize it a bit, so please check that out before the next round. Basically, if you want to post to AO3, SqWA, Neocities, your personal DW, your fic DW, or [other] and just link it, it's fine as long as it's unlocked and viewable by anyone without an account on that service. You are, of course, also still very welcome to and encouraged to prevent future link-rot and post straight to the community.

Also, I added a note that this community is 18+. If you are posting explicit content, please use the appropriate age restriction.

A polite ask if prompts can be posted even a couple of days earlier? I know there's a balancing act to anything like this, but for 28 stories, even ficlets, having a teensy bit more time gives me a chance of actually writing all 28 ficlets by the end of September.

If not, that's okay, and I'm still looking forward to this fest!

This schedule has been posted since March as a rough schedule and was only recently finalized. Next year, I can see about adjusting the dates based on your feedback.

As a compromise, I can try to send you a personalized set of prompts once they're ready, as a one-time thing.

Thank you for the fest - and yay for a new fest to come! I'm looking forward to it!

edit: I'm adding this to whenisitdue and am assuming that, like the mini round before, signups don't have a hard close until 9/28? A soft close is suggested on 8/17 before prompts are posted?

Yeah, generally people are welcome to signup whenever as long as they haven't looked at the prompts. If someone rolls up on the last day of posting, signs up and writes something without cheating too badly, that's fine.
