Prompt: while waiting, 1 strikes up a conversation with 6--

Even though both Albert and Liz had assured them that Diana wasn't badly injured, Neidhart and Mirsa both waited outside the infirmary anyway.

"I'm glad they were successful," Mirsa finally said, breaking the silence of the hallway. From what Albert had told them, they'd conquered the Grave and liberated its prisoner. He'd also been impressively filthy and in need of a bath and change of clothes. Liz hadn't been in much better shape, but she'd assured them both that Diana just needed a little more attention and she'd be back with them in no time.

Neidhart nodded. "I didn't recognize the name of the woman they freed."

"Neither did I."

That wasn't overly important. Honestly, Neidhart wasn't sure if there was anyone else from Mardias that he thought he might arrive in Vanguard. Already, he was sitting beside a god having an impressively awkward chat.

"Diana will probably be exhausted." From both the tower climb and her injuries. Healing magic still required the strength of the recipient, after all.

"Take her to your room, I'll see about dinner."

That was not what Neidhart had expected to hear, but he nodded. It made a certain amount of sense. Even if it might not be the most quiet place to rest, anything Diana needed someone would be there to provide. And if she was up for quiet chatter or a game of cards, she'd have multiple choices.

Albert would likely be there as well; that was probably informing Mirsa's decision.

Midway through deciding what dinner should be, which was a combination of suggestions and what might be available for their group, the infirmary door opened and Diana walked out, arm bandaged but otherwise smiling.

"Both of you?"

"Only for a moment," Mirsa replied. "I have something else to take care of."

"Dinner," Neidhart added. "You can rest in my bed until then."

"I might quickly wash first," Diana said quickly, wincing. "We'll stop by my room, I'll wash, I'll nap, and then we can all eat together."

She kissed Mirsa's cheek first, and then took the arm Neidhart offered. He was not expecting a kiss as well, but she gave him one and he smiled.

In the past he might have considered it a victory. But now, he was just content that Diana was there with them both. He knew how capable she was, but he worried nonetheless.

"Anything special you'd like?" Mirsa questioned.

Diana shook her head. "Whatever you can get for us will be fine."

Neidhart knew she meant that.

"Then what we talked about." Mirsa nodded to Neidhart, and he nodded back. Hopefully he'd manage a few of Diana's favorites, among what might be available at any of the pubs or food carts.

And hopefully Diana would feel well enough to enjoy dinner, despite her injury.

"Excellent. Now, I really wasn't kidding about the bath." Diana gave Neidhart's arm a tug. It was all he could do not to laugh. She'd certainly gotten more comfortable with him-

-and he was sure she was fine.
