The smile behind Daiser's mug pulled scars on his craggy face, but that was also the same as always. Aisha took a long sip from her own mug, eying the monitors flickering before them both -- and paused, as Daiser's smile broadened.
"Kinda nice being on the same side fer real this time, too. If I gotta get back in the military meatgrinder, I'd rather do it with someone I know won't throw everything into dreams of glory."
She saluted him with her mug.
"Exactly, my friend. Exactly."
