Prompt: Sept 12 Another Trial
Alessan swore, something he wasn't prone to doing, as the blade snapped. It was the last vine cutter he had been able to find, and if he hadn't needed this field so badly, as one of the ones known to be away from the deaths, he would have moved on.
What he had cleared so far wasn't enough even for his reduced numbers!
"I didn't know you knew those words," K'lon said, having come up behind him.
"How am I going to feed them all?" Alessan asked in a nearly broken tone.
K'lon studied the field, then looked at Alessan. "Can your plows manage it if the vines are gone?"
"Yes," the Lord said.
"Can you route enough water over here to soak the outer edges?"
"I could… wait, are you suggesting flame it?" Alessan considered after K'lon nodded. "That would use a lot of agenothree."
"But not very much firestone," K'lon told him. "Rogeth already said yes. And he'll pull anything large, once the fire dies, out of the way."
"K'lon, you, and he, are… true lifesavers," Alessan told him. K'lon shook his head at that.
"We are dragon and rider; we serve Pern, no matter the needed chore."
