Title: Congratulations in Order
Fandom: Dragonriders of Pern (Sixth Pass)
Pairing/Characters: Capiam & B'lerion
Rating: General Audiences
Content Notes: alcohol, pregnancy
Prompt: Sept 24 A buys B a drink
"Put your marks away," Capiam said as B'lerion was digging into his pouch. He tossed a mark on the brewer's counter. "His and one for me," he added.
B'lerion leaned back on the counter — extra kegs and a plank across it — to eye the Master Healer. He did accept his beer, and watched as Capiam took a long draught of his.
"Are you alright?"
"Desdra decided to spring news on me last night, and I am grateful to finally have a friend to confide it in," Capiam said, taking his elbow to guide him away from the others. "She's pregnant."
B'lerion grinned from ear to ear, patting him on the back. "Congratulations, Capiam. To both of you. I'll pass the word on to Nerilka if she wants?"
"I believe Ruatha is expected today, so no doubt Desdra will waylay her," Capiam said. "A father, at my age?"
"Means you have experience with life, to pass on to the child," B'lerion said. "She's not planning to foster?"
"Oh, we have staff that tends children when we travel, but by and large, healers prefer to rear their own."
"Then all my best to you, her, and the healer to be," B'lerion said.
