Title: At the Music Festival
Fandom: AB6IX, Dreamcatcher
Pairing/Characters: Lee Daehwi, Lee Yubin | Dami
Content Notes: N/A
Prompt: 5 September, beat the heat

Yubin leaned against the wall in the arena, watching the crowd in front of the stage. The sun beat down on them, and although she stood in the shade, she didn't think it made much of a difference. She just wouldn't get sunburned.

"I don't think I realized how... uncomfortable it is to have this festival at this time of year," a low voice said next to her. "Is it always this hot?"

Yubin looked around to find someone she vaguely recognized, although she couldn't have said who or what group he performed with. He looked at her with an expectant smile. "No, but it's hot like this more often than not," she said. "Is this your first time here?"

He nodded, and then drew himself up a little more. "Lee Daehwi, AB6IX," he introduced himself.

She did know that name. "Lee Yubin, Dreamcatcher. You're the producer?" she asked.

He nodded, a pleased smile covering his face. "It's good to meet you," he said.

"It's good to meet you, too." Daehwi dodged abruptly, grabbing Yubin's arm and yanking her out of the way as well. A stray stream of water splashed against the wall where she'd stood a moment before.
Startled, she glanced at him, and then at the water, and grimaced. "That would have been bad," she said, brushing her hand over her costume. "I'm not sure what would have happened if that had caught me. Thank you."

Daehwi smiled at her, understanding in his expression. "I only know what happened when one of my group mates got his costume soaked. It wasn't pretty."

Yubin nodded. "I can believe that," she said. Cheers rose up from the audience in the arena as more streams of water splashed them. Even without standing under the water, Yubin could feel how it cooled the air around them.

Her phone buzzed in her hand, and she glanced at it. The message came from Jiu. "I have to go in," she said and bowed to him. "Thanks for the save."

"You're welcome," Daehwi said, and she waved as she walked inside.
