Evelyn did not break eye contact with the American for a very long moment. It was almost enough to make Jonathan break it up with wit, or Rick to regret inviting the man in.

"If you are here," Evie began in her most no-nonsense tone, "to steal more notes about my endeavors, I promise I will actually punch you this time."

"So you haven't forgotten that. If it helps at all, Abner was certain you couldn't publish, and I thought if I did, I'd credit you."

"But Belloq beat us both to it. A bit of a snapshot of your career, hmm? Still, it is the past. Intentions or not, I have certainly proved Professor Ravenwood incorrect. So come, enjoy dinner with us, and we can start over."

"I'm glad to do that. Wouldn't mind asking you a few questions more about the incident in Cairo, actually," Indy said, putting his hat on the waiting rack, while Rick and Jonathan let themselves calm down. Of course Evie had it all in hand.
