Title: Courtship Display
Author:
darkicedragon
Fandom: Motorcity
Pairing/characters: Claire, Julie, Texas
Rating: G
Warnings: None.
Summary: Texas tries to flirt with Claire; Claire is, understandably, weirded out.
Word Count: 231
Prompt/challenge you're answering: Texas and Claire, not fully human.
Claire wasn't entirely sure what was happening. After weeks of asking, Julie had finally convinced her to go down with her to Motorcity. She had expected that they'd be caught as soon as they left Deluxe (even though Julie had been going down for months already without any problems), and riding in Julie's car had been…weird. It was noisy, she could feel every distinct rumble of the engine, but Julie looked like she was having fun, chatting about the sights they passed, telling her about what she and the Burners had done there. And Motorcity looked like pretty much what Kane said it did: dirty, dark, and unsafe. But it really was colourful though.
The problem was when Julie had introduced her to the rest of the Burners.
Namely, the guy in black.
He'd been flexing his muscles at her, making these weird noises for the last minute and it didn't look like he was going to let up any time soon.
"Um…" Claire glanced at Julia, who was groaning as she covered her face with a hand.
"This is…Texas," Julie said, a sigh in her voice as she led her away. "You get used to him. Eventually."
"Really?" Claire looked at her doubtfully. She wasn't sure about that, but if Julie said so…
