Anyone that knew either of them would never have expected to see them together, let alone outside one of the most upscale bakeries in five states.
"I think it should be blue and yellow," the redhead said.
"She's going to kill us anyway, so why not go with the black and yellow?" the taller, older man with white hair drawled.
"I know you have a death wish, but do you really want it to be that painful?" Roy Harper, known as Arsenal, quipped right back. "I might be able to pull off the pitiful kid wanting to show her how much he appreciates her, if we use the blue and yellow."
Slade hummed a little, and eyed the various offerings of model cakes on display.
"If we go with the black and yellow, she'll blame me fully, and just suss out that you gave me the date."
"You might have a point," Roy agreed to that. "Hmm, how about all three colors?"
"And remind her of the awful costume she used on the International team? I can only take that blame so much, Harper. Besides, she was wearing that the first time I almost killed her."
Roy sighed. "Wilson, this is a screwed up family we've got, I want that story, and alright. Black and gold? Since the accessories on her current suit aren't yellow anymore."
"Deal. And you can have the story at the penthouse. Too many I.D.s involved."
"Alright, let's go buy the milestone birthday cake," Roy said.
