Prompt: 4 & 6 with the title "Ready to Go"
--
There was a knock at her door just as Diana was pulling on her boots.
"It's open," she called, and there was only a moment's hesitation before she heard the latch.
"Just getting my boots on," she continued, finally looking up once she'd finished.
Mirsa had a patient smile for her, one that she echoed.
"There's no need to rush."
Diana did her best not to laugh. She'd not forgotten the joy on Mirsa's face when they'd made these plans and she was not going to keep him waiting. He had his sword with him, and she would grab her own in a moment.
Once she got to her feet, Diana marched right over to him, not hesitating to rise up on her tip-toes for a wonderfully-reciprocated kiss. Mirsa was warm, and had an arm around her after a moment, making her momentarily want to suggest other plans for the afternoon.
No, they were going to spar, and they were going to do it properly. Once Diana had her heels back on the ground, she reminded herself of that.
"I'm ready," she said. It wasn't as if she'd be able to win against him. But she'd make him work for his wins.
They'd have plenty of time for other things after, like a repeat of that kiss.
She reached for her sword.
She was ready.
