Title: In the Woods
Fandom: RomSaGa Re;univerSe
Pairing/Characters: Albert & Diana
Rating: All-Ages
Content Notes: None
Prompt: 4 & 5 - in the woods
Albert wasn't sure how the Otherworld Warrior teams were chosen, nor which Grave Knights led the teams, but he hadn't expected to be put on a team with his sister.
Diana had mostly been talking to Liz, and the rest of their team was Sophia and Rouge, neither of whom he knew well. There was a tower somewhere up ahead, but they still had a ways to walk.
Without making a sound, Diana suddenly held out a hand and everyone came to a stop. A moment later, Albert heard the rustling as well and was ready when a pack of beasts lunged from the undergrowth and towards them.
"Let's do this," Diana called to Albert, her own sword at the ready.
Albert nodded. They'd sparred back in Vanguard, and she'd acknowledged his improvement, but she hadn't seen it. Not like this. Now-
Now wasn't the time to think about impressing her, though. Not when fangs and claws were heading his way.
He fought with everything Diana had taught him, and with everything he'd learned after. He fought until the last monster dropped and Sophia was quietly healing a gash on his arm from where he'd been just a bit too slow.
The woods were quiet for a moment.
"Everybody okay?" Liz questioned.
Everybody was, though certainly a bit more alert than they had been.
Diana smiled at Albert.
"Not bad."
