Lasswell was just standing there blinking, and it took everything Raegen had in him not to shake sense back into the boy.
What he needed to do was wait.
Lasswell wasn't learning to cast fire if his father started intervening.
And you haven't been a boy for a long time, either.
I should be embarrassed.
But there was no time for embarrassment, or for a lot of things, while Rain was -- possibly, hopefully -- hurled all the way to Paladia.
They needed to get there, and then --
-- and while Raegen's thoughts galloped, Lasswell shook himself and called the flame again.
Successfully.
