Elué had, as soon as Korvallen returned from his jaunt with Samiar, smiled at Sharr, kissed his brow, and then wandered off to join Sam. Kor hadn't really thought about it, had gladly dragged the brother of his heart off to enjoy the reunion.
It was after, when Elué was pointedly socializing with Sam and the other magic users of the village, that Kor began to glimpse just what their lives were shaping to.
He took the time, while hunting with Sharr the next day, to find the particular grouse he knew she was fond of. When the communal meal for their family was served that night, he looked up in time to see Elué looking back at him, and she nodded, just briefly, in gratitude for him recognizing what she meant by giving him space.
Just because he was more direct didn't mean he was slow to see nuance!
