Alustriel smiled at the soft noise Charic made under the careful tending. For so long, Charic had been her friend and partner in raising the boys. Alustriel was pleased to have had an excuse to invite Charic here, to Silverymoon, the second winter after taking the city back. The crackle of fire, the feel of the fur they were on, the scent of the boughs warming above the flames of the brazier — all of it was having the right effect for the gentle healer and fierce protectress.
"Do neither of our men treat you to a proper massage, heart-sister?" she asked softly, moving to work at the knot in Charic's right shoulder.
"Sharr will, at times. Kor, if he notices my muscles tensing wrong," Charic admitted. "But you have a firmer touch with it."
"Trust the men to be too delicate for proper work," Alustriel teased. Charic chuckled, relaxing more.
