Julian looked down at the desktop, and its scatter of light-slates, and stifled a sigh. It sure looked like, once again, his assigned unit changed; at this point, he was sure he'd been through the entire roster.
Across said desk, Commander Polaris lifted a brow.
"Your current assignment is unsatisfactory, Lieutenant?"
Julian squeaked.
"Ah, no, it's not that, sir, it's just -- I've been moved around a lot. Sir."
Now it was Aisha's turn to sigh.
"I know, I know. We'll settle you in.
"There's a few things to iron out ..."
... Danaan. Home. Of course.
He'd be unmoored forever, wouldn't he.
