Jet was not expecting Amde to march into the hangar that might as well have been his office and shove a large, starting-to-melt, dish of ice cream in front of him. It was at least three flavors and covered in sprinkles and whipped cream.
"We're having an ice cream party," she said. "I made this for you."
As much as Jet wanted to protest, he just nodded and took the dish. He knew all about the freezer malfunction and that certain food had been slated to be used quickly, and he did know about the ice cream party but he wasn't really an ice cream party person...
His own freezer currently had a few bricks of some food item shoved in it; that was the best he could do since he hadn't had anything to even offer for repairs. It would take another week for the parts to arrive and meals had been a little on the eclectic side.
Maybe the ice cream party was to take the edge off things, along with using up the ice cream. That was a nice idea, Jet thought.
And the ice cream was good, too. Jet said nothing when Amde sat down to watch him eat. Well, he had skipped at least one meal and he'd probably missed another, so...
He couldn't remember the last time he'd had sprinkles or whipped cream.
"Thanks, Amde."
