Leri had brought herself to the edge of the Hatching Ground, the night still dark as she waited. They were right; Moreta would aim for the dawn, knowing the precise placement of sun, the Red Star, and the configuration of the Star Stones on the rim. It just felt hopeless.
Moreta dragged herself up onto Holth's neck, just as the faintest light touched the skies. She had to be confident, had to not let the cold and disorientation of her mind where Orlith should be get to her.
They needed to go home. With all her heart, she visualized it.
