While B'lerion had been focused mostly on Oklina, he did take the time to find the wraith that was her brother. He did so in a store room, a single glow uncovered, leaving much of it in the shadows.

That felt right, as B'lerion cleared his throat to bring Alessan away from his supposed inventory task.

The scowl belied the eyes that were red-rimmed, and unlike Oklina, the bronze rider would not be pushed away.

"For what it may be worth to you, for surviving, I can honestly say I had not seen her that happy as she was with you."

Alessan swallowed hard against his anger, that cloying need to hide and lick his wounds. He gave a bare nod, then focused on work.

I find their dynamic to be a fascinating one. B'lerion having been Moreta's lover has a lot of insight Alessan could lean into, but he's also part of 'stealing Oklina away'.

Reading your fic is slowly surfacing more memories of this book, which was one of my favorites, but I haven't read any Pern in decades. I think I like re-experiencing it this way.
