"You know people will talk, if you and she are openly involved after you pledged to that young Fortian, Nerilka?"
"I do. All three of us have discussed it."
"Then, never confirm the child's parentage, and let people wonder."
Alessan grinned at her. "It will be known."
"But only by rumor and speculation. Plenty of half-Bloods that way. Refusing to engage with it will protect the child more than affirming or denying it, and protect your actual heirs."
"Then I will listen to your advice."
