Title: Romance is Dead?
Fandom: Boyfriend, EXO
Pairing/Characters: Kim Donghyun, Kim Minseok | Xiumin
Content Notes: N/A
Prompt: 1 September, One in a Million
"If you think about it, one in a million isn't really all that much," Minseok said. He'd wrapped his hand around the last soju bottle, trying to anchor himself, but it wasn't helping, and he swayed as he tried to stay upright.
Across from him, Donghyun wasn't much better. "Don't be ridiculous," he protested, offended - and just as drunk as Minseok. "Of course it is."
"There are almost 8 billion people in the world," Minseok pointed out, after a moment of thought. "That means, one in a million... I mean, if someone is one in a billion, there are eight of them. So, one in a million means something like 8 thousand? I think."
Donghyun snorted, knocking himself backward. "That's missing the point," he protested.
"I mean, even if you um." Minseok blinked, trying to make his words work, trying to get things out. "Even if you just count the people in Seoul, one in million means there are eight of them just here in Seoul."
"Do you have a romantic bone in your body?" Donghyun asked.
"Not when I'm this drunk," Minseok said, and carefully picked up the bottle he held and tried to pour the last of it into Donghyun's glass. He was pretty sure he made it, too. "You get more romantic when you're drunk, don't you."
"I'm always romantic," Donghyun said, drawing himself up as best as he could. "It's part of my whole... asthetic."
Minseok burst into laughter and collapsed onto the table. "Aesthetic," he giggled. "You have an aesthetic."
Donghyun watched him, lips twitching as he tried to keep from smiling too widely. "You have one, too, you just won't admit it," he said when Minseok had finally stopped laughing. "It's all ice and chill, until you decide to let it melt."
Minseok snickered. "I'm not that cold," he said. "I know other people harder to approach."
"True," Donghyun said agreeably. He looked at the bottle, and then his cup, and sighed. "We agreed to stop after this one."
Minseok blinked at him. "It's empty?"
"Your cup isn't yet," Donghyun said, gesturing to the half full cup. "Finish it up, and we'll have the bar tender call us a cab."
Minseok drank it down, and snorted softly. "Do you think we can even get over there?"
"Of course," Donghyun said, and got unsteadily to his feet. Minseok followed, and they managed to get to the bar, close their tab, and get a cab ordered. The bouncer helped them outside, gently, thankfully, and waited with them until their ordered cab showed up.
It had been a nice night, Donghyun decided, managing to get into his apartment building after waving to Minseok as the cab left again. He opened the door to his apartment, took off his shoes, and made sure he locked the door before collapsing onto his bed and falling asleep.
