Title: Some Other Time
Fandoms: Doctor Who, ST Voyager
Pair: Donna Noble, Tom Paris
Content Warnings: brief mention of violence, alcohol abuse
Prompt: Oil and water
They probably would have gotten along well, if they'd met at a different time. Which is ironic, since Donna used to have all of time and space at her fingertips… but now she's just a temp from Chisswick and she's had just about enough of the loud, drunk American hogging the pool table. At another time, she may even have found him attractive, although she generally prefers the tall dark and handsome type.
Ironic, too, because Tom isn't even from this time. But time anomalies seem to have quite a propensity to drop one off in the late 20th/ early 21st centuries… and Tom has a shocking propensity for flying directly into them (completely by accident). Luckily, Tom quite enjoys this time period. It's a good place to kill time while waiting for Captain Janeway or Harry or someone to come and rescue him. The beer is better here, in any case. No synthehol in early 2000s England. He likes the women quite a lot too, usually. But not that pushy redhead giving him the evil eye from the bar. She looks like she could snap him like a twig. If she didn't look so angry, he might have let her. He has always had a thing for redheads.
So here they are, two time travelers meeting at exactly the wrong point in the timeline.
The other patrons of the bar are making bets on what will happen first. Will the man pass out in a puddle of his own drool (or… other even less savory fluids)? Or will the woman knock him senseless by breaking a beer bottle over his head if he doesn't give up the pool table soon?
Only time will tell.
