Title: Rearranging
Fandom: Transformers [Bay Movies]
Pairing/Characters: Starscream & Mikaela Banes
Content Notes: None
Prompt: September Eleven - 2 & 4 - weaving
Walk a Different Road is the backdrop
Mikaela looked up at her Decepticon counterpart — decades in and it still amused her to think that — for a lift up.
"Why do I put up with you," Starscream muttered.
"You promised, personally, to see to my transport and safety. Or else Sunstorm would be right here, and he can be disruptive."
Starscream chuckled at that understatement, settling the human in his cockpit before transforming to launch up into the aerial display. His effortless weaving between other Seekers was dazzling, even now, to Prime's Consort, the one both sides called their bridge. Ratchet actually led the Autobots, but she handled the cross-faction negotiations, in keeping with Prime's wishes to co-exist with the humans here.
"Any further developments for the expedition?" Mikaela asked Starscream, well-aware that he wasn't even using a quarter of his processors to show off to his kind.
"Wheeljack had acceptable ideas on how to stabilize a new wormhole, one that will not risk either planet. Not, of course, that I care about this one."
"Of course," she said, tone only slightly mocking. "We're ahead of schedule with moving the nuclear waste to the site on Mars. Sky Lynx coming in when she did made that possible."
"Hmm."
She did not press. Starscream usually ignored the transport class shuttles that came in, and she had a feeling there was some kind of history.
"I will be going, you know."
"Of course you will," she answered that imperious statement. "The question is, who are you leaving to keep your people in line?"
"I thought Sunstorm would be best," he said in a deceptively mild tone.
Mikaela did not curse him out, because she knew the 'Cons would test Sunstorm at every chance. Instead, she sighed.
"I guess I'm moving to your stronghold then, to help him not kill everyone."
