"Could you bring me the pages that are printing?" Cagalli questioned, not looking up as Athrun walked into her office and past her printer. He doubled back, grabbing the still-warm sheets that were sitting on it and after a couple of seconds of watching the display announce it was 'pending--printing' a last page printed. He grabbed that too and took it across the room without peeking.
"I found Shinn," Cagalli said. "I found information on his family's, ah--" Finally, she looked up at Athrun and winced. "Well, their final disposition. But they were identified."
"Do I want to ask?" Athrun questioned. He wasn't sure he wanted to know. But...
"His parents were Morgenroete employees," Cagalli told him. Athrun nodded. He'd gotten that out of Shinn the day before, actually. "Their ashes are in the memorial."
It took Athrun a couple of seconds to remember where the memorial was, on Morgenroete's grounds.
"And though it's set for public sale, Shinn's house survived, too. It's one of the box-like ones..." She told him the street, which Athrun knew. And he swallowed hard. Because--
"You can block the sale?" Athrun interrupted.
"Already did," Cagalli replied. "I mean, I don't know if Shinn would want it back, all things considered. But he'd be able to get photographs and whatever."
"I wish I had more photos," Athrun said softly, almost without meaning to. He hoped Shinn would appreciate all the information that Cagalli found for him. It wasn't often that the leader of a country just dropped everything - on the morning of major diplomatic talks, especially - to look through abandoned real estate records.
"So do I," Cagalli mumbled. Athrun sighed.
