Colossal downpours when he was in regular clothes were not Dick's idea of fun. He hurried for the Ambassador, knowing he'd be able to get a room to wait it out, and didn't notice the other person doing much the same.
Well, at least at first. When they made it through the rotating door, the familiar snort that preceded a greeting made all of Dick's awareness turn up to eleven.
"Kid."
"You ever going to stop calling me that?" Dick demanded, but he was grinning as he took in all six foot four of the muscular mercenary that wasn't currently wanted for anything on American soil. Who had, Dick admitted, been running damn clean even away from here, or at least it seemed that way.
He had the prosthetic eye in, and his hair was tinted blond, but that was very much Slade Wilson.
"Not my usual hotel, but more than willing to split a room? Didn't want to hail a cab, or dash over to the Imperial," Slade drawled.
"I ought to make you cover the full cost for that obvious a tale," Dick told him, smiling broadly. "You saw me."
"And?"
"Alright, you tell me why you were looking for me, and I'll cover half," Dick said with a laugh.
"Deal, Kid, because yeah, wanted to bend your ear, as well as check on you after that crap in the Bat's city last week."
Dick sighed. "Sounds good." He went to the concierge, followed by his favorite rogue.
